In-House Air-Flow Testing & Development A flowbench is a device to measure airflow resistance through a mechanical component such as a cylinder head or intake manifold. Virtually every engine component which is in the inlet air or exhaust gas path can be tested and improved on a flowbench. Much has been written and argued over in the area of engine airflow requirements and testing parameters. While it’s certainly true having airflow numbers high enough to support a specific power output is no guarantee the target will be met, not having them makes it a complete guessing game.
